I was lucky enough to grow up when analogue was king and I was a huge fan of listening to music on vinyl and cassette. My dad was a huge part of that and had a massive influence on the music that I listened to. He gave me a C120 cassette once that he'd copied Led Zeppelin 1- 4 onto. He'd recorded 1 and 2 to side 1 and 3 and 4 to side 2 of the cassette. Like a genius though, after Led Zeppelin 2 had finished he had flipped the tape over and started recording album 3 straight away so there was no need to fast forward or rewind the cassette at all. Genius! It also pretty much fitted so that after LZ 4 had finished, it was almost the end of the tape. hardly any fast forwarding required at all. That was one of my favourite tapes and I listened to it a lot.

It was Father's Day yesterday and I was thinking about that cassette. I decided I wanted to write a heavily tape warped track for nostalgic reasons. I sat down in the evening and within about 30 minutes C120 was finished.

I didn't want to over analyse it or think about it too much, so I gave it a car test and decided it was ready. So here you go. It's something a bit different for me but I think I'll definitely return to this sound in the near future.
